The Inspired by Mail website/blog typically collects two kinds of information about guests: (a) information that the guest provides that personally identifies that guest (Personally Identifiable Information); and (b) information that does not personally identify that guest, and that we automatically collect when guests visit our website/blog, or that guests provide to us (Non-Personal Information). Some Personally Identifiable Information is collected when a someone submits posts, is added to our email list, or participates in a survey or contest.
The Personally Identifiable Information submitted to us is generally used to carry out requests, respond to inquiries, better serve guests, or in other ways naturally associated with the circumstances in which a guest provided the information.
We may also share Personally Identifiable Information with third party advertisers in order to obtain paid advertisements. These ads are denoted under “sponsors” in the right sidebar of the home page of this website/blog.
Submissions and Email List
Submitting materials for posting requires that you provide, as part of the submission process, a valid email address, first name, and last name. When you request to be placed on the email list, you must provide a valid email address, and you may also be asked to provide a valid first name and last name. In addition, zip code, country of residence, or other demographic information may be requested for either the submission process or email list. This information provides Inspired by Mail with a better understanding of guests.
If a guest sends us an email with questions or comments, we may use Personally Identifiable Information to respond to that guest’s questions or comments, and we may save those questions or comments for future reference. For security reasons, we strongly recommend that guests NOT send non-public personal information, such as passwords, social security numbers, or bank account information, to any entity by email. The blog takes no responsibility for preserving the security of any such information a guest chooses to disclose. In certain instances, we may provide guests with the option to set preferences for receiving email communications from us; that is, agree to some communications but not others. Guests may “opt out” of receiving future commercial email communications from us by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included at the bottom of most emails we send, or as provided below. However, we reserve the right to send guests transactional emails such as customer service communications.
We use Non-Personal Information in a variety of ways, including to help analyze site traffic, understand customer needs and trends, carry out targeted promotional activities, and to improve our services. We may use Non-personal Information by itself or aggregate it with information we have obtained from others. We may share Non-personal Information with our affiliated companies and third parties to achieve these objectives and others, but remember that aggregate information is anonymous information that does not personally identify any one individual.
If another entity acquires Inspired by Mail or all (or substantially all) of our assets, the Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personal Information we have about guests may be transferred to and used by this acquiring entity. Also, if any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding is brought by or against us, all such information may be considered an asset of ours and as such may be sold or transferred to third parties.
Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, we reserve the right to disclose any Personally Identifiable Information or Non-Personal Information about guests if we are required to do so by law, with respect to notices and counter notices pursuant to our DMCA notice and takedown policy and procedures and/or if we believe that such action is necessary to: (a) fulfill a government request; (b) conform with the requirements of the law or legal process; (c) protect or defend our legal rights or property, our website/blog, or other users; or (d) in an emergency to protect the health and safety of our Website/blog’s users or the general public.
We strive to protect Personally Identifiable Information and privacy, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of information disclosed or transmitted to us online and are not responsible for the theft, destruction, or inadvertent disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information. In the unfortunate event that Personally Identifiable Information is compromised, we may notify you by e-mail (at our sole and absolute discretion) to the last e-mail address you have provided us in the most expedient time reasonable under the circumstances. Delays in notification may occur while we take necessary measures to determine the scope of the breach and restore reasonable integrity to the system as well as for the legitimate needs of law enforcement if notification would impede a criminal investigation.
The Inspired by Mail website/blog may link to or contain links to third party websites that we do not control or maintain, such as in connection with purchasing products referenced on the Inspired by Mail website/blog and banner advertisements. We are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by any third party. We encourage guests to note when they leave our website/blog and to read the privacy statements of all third parties before submitting any Personally Identifiable Information.
We will respond to such requests and, if applicable and appropriate, make the requested change in our active databases as soon as reasonably practicable. Please note that we may not be able to fulfill certain requests from guests while continuing to allow that guest access to certain benefits and features of our website/blog.
